UK Pipeline Infrastructure FEED Study
In the consulting industry, each situation is unique and requires a specific set of solutions. This infrastructure project, had multiple key stakeholders, with different commercial drivers and UK regulatory bodies. As part of the integrated team we provided the client with an optimum design and delivery schedule, to allow the project economics to be an attractive outcome, and through a strategic planning process we were able to achieve a great end result.
Sea Lion Field FEED Study
This project study is a great example of how integrated and initiative teamwork between all project departments and external regulatory bodies resulted in the first FEED design for the North Falkland Basin that was technically, economically and environmentally assured. Providing consultancy support to the clients’ team to act as; the E, I, C & T Lead for the Sea Lion FPSO FEED study; responsible for all electrical, instrument & control, metering and telecommunications client philosophies & functional descriptions; and acted as the E, I, C & T FPSO design authority. The role additionally included being a key team member for the overall field development of Integrated Intelligent Operations (IIO) and telecommunication requirements between Drilling, Installation, FPSO operations and Island facilities.
IIO was identified as a key project strategic pillar with the field re-supply route being circa six weeks, excluding the procurement cycle and circa three days for technical vendor support being on the facility. The IIO requirements were captured in a detailed Statement of Requirements (SoR), which incorporated the key requirements for success as; People, Processes, Technology and Governance.
Catcher FPSO Delivery
The Catcher FPSO facility and field development was delivered to schedule, on budget, to design requirements and outperformed the clients’ expectations. The key fundamentals to this successful project, were planning and schedule control, detailed design controls and control systems interface management.
As the project was delivered globally via a distributed team, the interface management between the FPSO and Subsea control systems was identified as a key risk to the project success. This interface was robustly and effectively managed to deliver a seamless control implementation for offshore commissioning and operation.
